Polish lyric soprano Barbara Zamek has recently performed the role of Frau Biedermann in the production of Biederman und die Brandstifter (S. Vosecek) at the Neue Oper Wien and Papagena and Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte (W.A.Mozart) at Le Studio de l’ Opéra de Lyon. Ms. Zamek’s past engagements include Antonia at Les Contes d’Hoffmann (J. Offenbach) at the Escales Lyriques Werkstatt, Ginevra in Ariodante (G.F.Händel) at the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn in Vienna, Dido in Dido and Aeneas (H.Purcell) at the Collegium Nobilium Theatre in Warsaw and Zofia in Halka (Stanisław Moniuszko) at the Warsaw National Opera. She has also participated in concerts in Sofia and Warsaw.
Ms. Zamek is the recipient of many prizes in competitions, such as the Special Prize at the 19th Johannes Brahms International Competition in Pörtschach (2012) and the 3rd Prize at the International Lied Competition in Sofia, Bulgaria (2011). She was also a finalist at the International Dostal Operetta Competition in Korneuburg, Austria.
Barbara Zamek is studying at a prostgraduate level with Prof. Claudia Viska at the University of Music and the Performing Arts Vienna and she has completed her undergraduate studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
Soprano Barbara Zamek is invited to sing at the IVC Opera Concert on December 8th 2013 at the Theater aan de Parade ‘s-Hertogenbosch as she has successfully passed the Preliminary Rounds of the renown competition that will celebrate it’s 50th anniversary in 2014.conitnue
