Soprano Sooyeon Lee wins the Culturarte Prize of US$10.000.00 at Placido Domingo’s Operalia!

We congratulate Sono Artists soprano Sooyeon Lee who has been awarded the Culturarte Prize offered by Bertita & Guillermo Martinez from CulturArte de Puerto Rico of the current edition of Placido Domingo’s Operalia in Astana, Kazakhstan!   Sooyeon Lee is currently an ensemble member of Staatstheater Oldenburg in Germany.

Soprano Nina Bernsteiner will debut as Giuno & L’amore in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria at the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik

Soprano Nina Bernsteiner will debut the roles of Giuno/L’amore in Claudio Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria. The production is a cooperative production with the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik and Norske Opera & Ballett Oslo. This modern interpretation of an ancient literary work opens on the 10th of August 2017 and will be performed under the baton of Maestro Alessandro De Marchi and directed by Ole Anders Tandberg. Further performance dates include the 12th and 14th of August 2017.

Three Sono Artists make Glyndebourne Festival Debuts!

Sopranos Beate Ritter and Sumi Hwang make their Glyndebourne Festival debut along with Tenor Sehoon Moon. Sumi Hwang will sing Norina alongside Sehoon Moon’s Ernesto in Gaetano Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, whilst Beate Ritter made a successful festival debut singing Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos. The remaining “Don Pasquale” performance will be on July 21st 2017.

Mezzo-Soprano Dara Savinova debuts at the Bregenz Festival as Amenolfi in Mose in Egitto

Mezzo-Soprano Dara Savinova makes a role debut and festival debut at the Bregenz Festival as Amenofi in their production of Rossini’s Mose in Egitto. The production, which opens on July 20th 2017 will be conducted by Enrique Mazzola and directed by Lotte de Beer. Further performances will be on the 23rd and 31st of July 2017.
